What contracts do I need to sign before starting a Project?
Learn about the different contracts that need to be signed on StudioSpace as an agency
TL;DR
You need to sign four documents before starting a project:
-
A Statement of Work, created from your Draft Statement of Work
-
StudioSafe onboarding form (this expires after 1 year)
-
StudioSafe engagement form (this is a requirement for every project, apart from small extensions)
-
StudioSpace MSA (this only needs to be completed once)
Your StudioSafe forms can be accessed from the "Contracting" page within your project and you will be able to complete this once you have submitted your Draft Statement of Work, as this takes priority.
Long Answer
While you are on StudioSpace, you will be asked to sign contracts in a progressive manner, meaning you will only sign contracts when it's required of you. We have 2 types of contract: global and project-specific.
Global Contracts
These are contracts that only need to be completed once (or very periodically) while you are on StudioSpace.
StudioSafe Onboarding Form
As part joining StudioSpace, your agency will be asked to complete an Onboarding Form.
This form should be completed by a company director or authorised signatory. The response remains valid for one year, unless there have been changes in the information you’ve shared with us during that time - in which case please contact us to let us know.
This information is needed to ensure compliance with our supplier agreements with the brands you will be working with on StudioSpace.
We only request your agency to complete this form when kicking off your first project and if your Onboarding Form has expired after a year, we request you complete a new one whenever you win your next project. It's a quick for that shouldn't take longer than a couple of minutes.
StudioSpace Master Services Agreement (MSA)
The MSA is a contract that governs your activities and services you provide on all StudioSpace projects. You will be typically asked to complete this once you've won your first project.
Project-Specific
These are contracts that only need to be completed for each project you deliver on StudioSpace.
Statement of Work
To learn more about creating the Draft Statement of Work that eventually becomes the Statement of Work, please visit this article.
Each project requires a Statement of Work for it to begin. As part of transferring information from the project brief and StudioSpace into a formal Statement of Work, we ask the winning agency to create a Draft Statement of Work (Draft SoW). Once the Draft SoW has been approved by StudioSpace and client, a Statement of Work will be generated on Juro that needs to be signed.
StudioSafe Engagement Form
You will also be required to complete separate project-specific form. This form helps us understand the potential risk undertaken by this project and, like the onboarding form, ensures compliance with our supplier agreements.
You will need to complete a new Engagement Form for each individual project in order to satisfy StudioSpace's client risk & compliance requirements. The form shouldn't take longer than a few minutes to complete.
